Facility Drop-off
Information on household trash disposal at the Recycling and Solid Waste Center. The Recycling and Solid Waste Center (RSWC) only accepts waste from Tompkins County residents, businesses, and licensed haulers who have a valid Tompkins County Solid Waste Management Division (TCSWMD) Permit or Hauler's License.
Trash Tags
All garbage set out for collection in Tompkins County must have a trash tag affixed to the bag or can.
Hazardous Waste
The Tompkins County Solid Waste Management Division (TCSWMD) offers a permanent location to accept HHW from Tompkins County residents and qualified businesses and organizations that are Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQG). Material is accepted at the Recycling and Solid Waste Center's D.E.P.O.T.
Hire a Hauler
Tompkins County businesses and residents have the option to hire a licensed hauler to remove recyclables and garbage from their property.
