Recycling and Solid Waste Center
The Recycling and Solid Waste Center (RSWC) is located at 160 Commercial Avenue, and is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The RSWC has drop-off areas for garbage, single stream recyclables, food scraps, yard waste and additional materials (i.e. electronics, batteries and rigid plastics).
The Borrow-A-Bin program is a free service that aims to maximize waste diversion at special events in Tompkins County by loaning up to 20 recycling bins to local, public events.
Food Scraps Recycling
Users can bring up to 10 gallons of food scraps and compostable disposables per day, free of charge, to the Drop-off area at the Recycling and Solid Waste Center (RSWC).
