The ReBusiness Partners Program is designed to support a local business or organization's efforts to reduce waste (Recyle, Reduce and Reuse), adopt green purchasing practices (Rebuy), and increase recycling and composting. Tompkins County Solid Waste Management Division Staff have worked with businesses and organizations in sectors such as apartment complexes and assisted living facilities, banks, day care, food service, grocery and retail locations, hospitals, municipalities, and nonprofits.
Household Hazardous Waste
The Tompkins County Solid Waste Management Division (TCSWMD) offers a permanent location to accept HHW from Tompkins County residents and qualified businesses and organizations that are Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQG). Material is accepted at the Recycling and Solid Waste Center's D.E.P.O.T.
Permits and Fees
Permits may be purchased only by Tompkins County residents and businesses to dispose of all garbage and certain recyclables at the Tompkins County Recycling and Solid Waste Center (RSWC).
The Borrow-A-Bin program is a free service that aims to maximize waste diversion at special events in Tompkins County by loaning up to 20 recycling bins to local, public events.
